Spore length: 8.5 - 9.5 microns
Spore width: 8.5 - 9.5 microns
Spore color: clear

The final determining factor was the capillitium (threads) among the spores were ornamented with spines and ridges. This information was contributed by Dr. Andrew Methven. The capillitium photos were taken in KOH solution. Dr. Methven, Dr. Sundberg and Jay Justice confirmed the classification. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) confirmed that this specimen is Arcyria nutans.
