This is the eastern North American variety of the Amanita caesarea. It has a slimmer stalk (often with reddish fibrils) plus a frequently umbonate cap that's usually yellow toward the margin in age (as the photos show). It is considered a distinct species (formerly A. umbonata) by many mycologists.
