Flies were noted on the stinkhorn. Obnoxious odor. In bark mulch. Emanating from a sac-like cup at the base. Course white cords emanate from the base of the eggs sacs and stipe base. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Phallus ravenelii.
