Spore length: 8.5 microns
Spore width: 6 microns
Spore color: clear
Spore texture: smooth
Spore shape: globose to elliptic
Spore print color: white
Chemical reaction: n/d

COMMENTS

The abrupt bulbous base, spore size, cleft in the bulbous base and shape were keys to the identification of this species. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Amanita abrupta.
