Found in a lawn in what appeared to be a wood mulched area that was taken over by the lawn grasses. Its bulbous stem, pinkish buff scales on the cap and the spore size that includes an apical pore maked this easily identified. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Leucoagaricus americanus.
