Spore length: 14 - 16.5 microns
Spore width: 4 - 4.5 microns
Spore color: clear
Spore texture: smooth
Spore shape: fusiform
Spore print color: olive-brown
Chemical reaction: n/d
Brown scapules and wrinkled cap. Found in oak woods. Although the spores are slightly smaller than described in Roger Phillips book, the other identifying characteristics confirmed the specimen. Close examination by Dr. Methven (see annotation above) combined with the 2015 DNA analysis confirmed that this specimen is Leccinum rugosiceps.
