What you’ll need to bring to Morel Madness
Bedding – pillow, sleeping bag, or sheets and blankets for a twin bed. Cabins are not heated but do have outlets.
Toiletries – towel, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, etc.
Food: The dining lodge will have plates, cups, and silverware. We will have a kitchen for meal assembly if needed, as well as a walk-in fridge for storage.
- Potluck Items:
- 2 potluck dishes to share, one for each night. Examples include non-alcoholic beverages, appetizers, sides, entrees, desserts, etc.
- Bring your own beer and wine `
- Serving plates and utensils.
- Lunches and Snacks – you’ll need to provide your own lunch, snacks, and water for Saturday forays.
Hiking Essentials to consider:
- Appropriate clothing: pants, long sleeves, hiking shoes.
- Water bottle
- Rain gear (hat, poncho, jacket, rain boots)
- Bug spray and sunscreen
- Mushroom collecting items – baskets, knives, paper or mesh bags, magnifying glass.
- Compass, walking stick.
- Mushroom identification field guides
Nighttime Needs
- Head lamps
- Camp chairs
- UV flashlights (if you have one) for the UV light night walk.
What not to bring
Although we all love our animals, dogs are not welcome at the camp.
