ANNOUNCEMENTS

March 16, 2023

The Missouri Mycological Society's annual "Morel Madness" event is fast approaching. Register now while you're thinking of it. Bruch Reed, North American Mycological Association (NAMA) Chief Operating Officer will be our keynote speaker. However, you must be a member to register so if you're not, you can become a member right now.

Also, we're excited to announce we have just updated our calendar with a "TON" of forays for 2023 and there's still more to come. Check our calendar and you're certain to find some you just can't resist. We can't wait to see you.

If you're not yet a member, we invite you to explore our site and join MOMS so you can learn all about the world of fungi.

Welcome to the magical world of mushrooms and one of the most active mushroom clubs out there! Come and immerse yourself in the beautiful and mysterious world of fungi.

If finding, eating, photographing, researching, or just learning about mushrooms sounds interesting, then the Missouri Mycological Society (MOMS) is the group for you! We are a friendly group of nature enthusiasts across Missouri that enjoy getting together to talk about mushrooms and anything else we discover along the way. Some of us MOMS members like to see our mushrooms on a dinner plate and some of us like to see our mushrooms on a glass slide under a microscope. Our events always contain fun, food and fungus. With chapters across the state MOMS always has something interesting for you and your family to do.

Throughout the year, MOMS members regularly get together for weekend camping trips, mushroom hunting trips called forays, mushroom classes, and special culinary gatherings. No matter what your preference, you can expect warm people, a friendly atmosphere, and fun memories.

As part of our mission MOMS also strongly believes in giving back. We offer free mushroom educational classes to our members in addition to many free events to the general public to foster an interest in learning all about the fungi of Missouri.

If you are interested in learning more, please check out our website, calendar of events, past and current copies of the Earthstar Examiner newsletter, and friend us on Facebook.

Happy hunting! Hope to see you at an event soon.
